of Star Trek: Voyager.) Discover how the solar system formed. Journey with the Oct 17, 18
Vikings, Mariners, Voyagers and other robot explorers of our solar system as they Nov 7, 8
encounter the barren surfaces of Mercury and Venus, the great ancient volcanoes Nov 21, 22
of Mars, the perils of the asteroid belt, the stormy gas giant planets and their cold
rings, the far-flung comets. Then, we search for other solar systems beyond ours!
Concert: Songs of Earth and Space Friday, Nov. 14
Class is back in session, and science is on our list! Join “the Singing Astronomer,” 7 p.m.
Professor Jon U. Bell and the “Sensational Celestial Soprano,” Jane Whitaker of Saturday, Nov. 15

Universe as well as the beauty of the Earth and its myriad forms of life both on land
and sea. And Sing along Jon and Jane on such classics as, “There Are Plenty of Stars
in the Sky,” “the DNA Song,” “Constellation Barcarolle,” and the ever-popular, “Fungus!”
Star of Wonder
Join us in our search for the star that may have guided the Magi over two thousand Dec. 5 & 6
years ago. Find out how an astronomer might explain this great mystery. Star of Dec. 12 & 13
Wonder has become a family holiday tradition at the Hallstrom Planetarium since 1993.
Concert: Yuletides
Featuring beautiful songs of the holiday season - come join us for this concert under the Saturday, Dec. 13
planetarium stars, featuring the live electronic music of world-renowned composer 4:00 & 7:00 p.m.
and artist Jonn Serrie.
Cosmic Zoom
From the ocean of water just a short distance from our homes - to the ocean of space Jan 24 & 25
that begins just fifty miles above our heads – nature has given us an incredible wealth Jan 31 & Feb.1
of beauty and mystery. In some ways, we know far more about the depths of outer Mar 7 & 8
space than we do about the great watery deeps that cover our planet. We long to Mar 14 & 15
explore and discover these wonders; curiosity is the hallmark of our species. Plunge
into the sea, and travel the currents of the cosmos!
The Hercules Connection/Pluto Update
There have been a lot of cartoons, TV shows and Hollywood movies made about Apr 17, 18
this hero from ancient Greek mythology. Pretty much all of these presentations are Apr 24, 25
wrong in one way or another. The Hercules Connection gets it right, and also shows May 15, 16
how Hercules’ labors and other adventures are found as constellations in the night sky. May 29, 30
Also, join us for a second short feature, Pluto Update, which will tell you all about the
upcoming New Horizons probe flyby of this distant world, set for July 2015!
SHOWS ARE ON FRIDAYS, AT 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. AND SATURDAYS, AT 1:00 and 2:30 p.m.
